Vintage 1920's CARHARTT Chore Coat

This exemplary Carhartt chore coat described as dating to the 1920's was recently offered for sale by the fine folks at IN VINTAGE WE TRUST and even priced at just under five big ones, this beauty didn't last long.
Some of the killer details seen in the photos below include angular watch pocket with primitive single stitching and rarely seen early Carhartt Master Cloth label, heart shaped "change" or removable buttons with patent date of 1918, sleeve cuff rivet reinforcement and early United Garment Workers of America union label.
While many of the same type of coats from the same time period featured chin strap collar closures, photos and description of this coat did not reference this feature which was also know as dust proof collar or military style adjustable collar.  A similar coat is seen inside the Carhartt Universal Time Book from 1935.

O.N. FORD ROEHM-ROEHM DAYTON BRAND Vintage Shooting Jacket

This jacket goes out to connoisseur of gentleman's hunting style, artist, fellow blogger and friend Vilbo a.k.a. FRENCH CANCAN in honor of his recent birthday. O.N. FORD / DAYTON BRAND vintage shooting jacket manufactured by The ROEHM-ROEHM Company of Dayton Ohio, a long defunct manufacturer of high grade twill and duck garments. 

Interesting "Norfolk" jacket type details including vertical suspender type reinforcements. An educated guess would be that these straps helped support heavy loads inside the pockets, any confirmation of this or additional information is always appreciated. Sleeve cut and construction including armpit gussets allowed for the wide range of movement needed while shooting

Vintage Railroad Engineer 3 pocket chore/work jacket. Another fine example of now you see it now you don't.
3 pocket design with 2 lower patch pockets and single left side upper watch pocket with side entry and pencil slot, change buttons with ring retainers and locomotive embossed brass button facings dated 1918 along with the honest wear & tear, patina and whiskered denim obtained from decades of real world use are just a few of the desirable features on this killer piece.
