VINTAGE CHANGE BUTTON RAILROAD ENGINEERS JACKET

Vintage Railroad Engineer 3 pocket chore/work jacket. Another fine example of now you see it now you don't.
3 pocket design with 2 lower patch pockets and single left side upper watch pocket with side entry and pencil slot, change buttons with ring retainers and locomotive embossed brass button facings dated 1918 along with the honest wear & tear, patina and whiskered denim obtained from decades of real world use are just a few of the desirable features on this killer piece.

  1. i have a similar one. carharrt. cant seem to find the same one anywhere else. its a 3 pocket jacket with stitching instead of rivets. it also has the slanted button hole for the pocket watch chain.
also, on the upper watch pocket there is the union made label.

this is the closest thing i have found. it doesnt have the brass heart shaped buttons. it has round buttons with a red heart in them and it says carharrt in the around the outside.

    anyone seen this before?

  4. Curious to know more about change buttons. When did they stop making them for work wear?? Seems very rare.
