Thanks to Matt Strickland aka RivetHEAD for the heads up.

ReplyDeleteThat photograph never gets old — the nonchalance of those ironworkers eating lunch hundreds of feet up is extraordinary. It also says a lot about working-class culture and the clothing of the era. Great way to mark the anniversary. Separately, I've been using an AI image generator to recreate vintage aesthetics in modern imagery — very different from authentic archival photos but fun for creative projects.

Those workers built structures that are still standing nearly a century later, including all the mechanical systems inside them. Finding good hvac repairs for buildings that old is its own challenge.
